The new "Wayside Exhibit Guide" tells everything you might want to know about producing wayside exhibit panels.
The National Park Service’s Harpers Ferry Design Center has just published an 84-page illustrated PDF manual called The Wayside Guide for those who have the responsibility for creating outside interpretive exhibits. This online document is organized around the process of creating waysides and provides help in understanding the strengths and limitations of the wayside medium. It has planning, designing and writing tips as well as production, installation and maintenance suggestions. The guide is available for free and can be found on the Harpers Ferry web site at: http://www.nps.gov/hfc/products/waysides/way-guide.htm.
